WestEdge Design Fair returns to Barker Hangar for three days, Friday October 19 – Sunday October 21. The Fair will offer quality modern design along with an opportunity to shop from premium home furnishing brands, many new to the West Coast. The Fair also features a strong design education component.
Convo By Design has teamed up with Snyder Diamond designer Julia Wong to create an intimate lounge which will host panel discussions and workshops led by Convo By Design. Unless oherwise noted, all talks are complimentary, and seating is on a first come basis.
The topics include: Brand Development for Designers and Design Firms, Sustainable Timeless Design, What Do They Want: Guidelines for the Media and Designers, Global Design Inspiration-Paris Calling!, Los Angeles: Rising Star on the Global Stage, Transformative Design: Its Always Personal, Silicon Beach Design: The Hub of Design Innovation, Multitasking in the Gig Economy, The Use of Immersive Experiential Design for Holistic Wellness, Media Mastery: Covering a City From Multiple Angles and Giving Readers, Listeners and Viewers What They Want, Be My Guest: The Modern Host.
The MADE:MODERN area is dedicated to engaging with independent designers and their one-of-a-kind pieces.
Design Milk team’s Milk Stand popup shop will offer home accessories, leather goods, modern jewelry and artwork.
The ‘Women’s Work’ exhibition in partnership with MUSE by Robb Report will showcase leading female designers and their creations. The CITI Culinary Pavilion will host a full schedule of daily demonstrations and tastings, letting guests engage with luminary chefs and experience cuisine from some of Southern California’s top restaurants.
On Friday, you can test drive the recently unveiled Karma Revero-Aliso Special Edition, a luxury electric car from Southern California named 2018 Luxury Green Car of the Year. Designed by CHACOL and styled by Madam Chair, it offers a sanctuary with innovations in power and technology. An opening night party on Thursday October 18 presented by Pacific Sales Kitchen & Home will let you preview and shop the fair before it opens. The festive evening will include an auction of one-of-a-kind Knoll Bertoia chairs, designed by fifteen leading designers invited for the event. All sales benefit Safe Place for Youth whose mission is to support homeless youth.
