Quivira, Los Cabos

Only two hours away from LA by air,  Los Cabos remains a popular destination for Southern Californians. Its sun and sea present a host of water activities – swimming, surfing, wind surfing, kayaking, yachting, snorkeling, jet skiing, parasailing, dolphin and whale watching trips, and fishing.

Caves and canyons drop into waters teeming with sea life and stewn with old shipwrecks.  Underwater visibility can reach 120 feet to reveal sea mammals, large fish like manta rays, amberkjack, grouper and colorful topical species.

There’s plenty of nature activities on land as well.  Hike the  desert and mountains trails with rivers and waterfalls, or  the indigenously inhabited canyons of Sierra La Laguna where the high rainfall has created a unique biosphere.  Go horseback riding, or tackle the extreme trails in a Humvee at Baja Outback Adventures, or get a bird’s eye view with Canopy Tours.

Annual events include a film festival, a music festival, a food and wine festival, and a Christmas Fiesta.  Ongoing seasonal events include the Shona stone culture exhibit, art walks and organic farmers markets.  Nearby Todos Santos is an artistic and cultural destination for  art and photography galleries, fine restaurants,  local festivals and elegant hotels.
