Celebrating the National Seafood Month, the 4th Annual Off the Hook Santa Monica Seafood Festival returns to the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 4-7 pm, with VIP access an hour earlier at 3pm.Â
The event features tastings from the city’s top seafood restaurants and chefs, live music, the popular oyster shucking competition, a sustainable seafood VIP Lounge and more.Â
This year’s festival will feature Santa Monica’s top chef’s showcasing dishes featuring the full range of seafood – including oysters, baja kanpachi, ahi handrolls, shrimp mac and cheese, lobster rolls and more.Â
Chef participants include chef restaurateur Jason Fullilove of Barbara Jean, Barbara Pollastrani of Heroic Deli and Govind Armstrong of The Lobster.Â
Participating restaurants serving small plates include BOA, Sushi Roku, Herringbone, Red O, Blue Plate Oysterette, Gladstone’s, 1212 Santa Monica, The Albright, TŪMBI Craft Indian Kitchen, Del Frisco’s Grille, Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken, Enterprise Fish Co., El Cholo, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., TrashFish, and Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern. The Albright will sponsor its crowd favorite Off the Hook Oyster Shucking Competition where competitors battle it out to win the title Best in Shuck.In addition, there will be a beer and wine garden, spirits tasting, live music, games and more.
Besides an early entry at 3 p.m. VIP tickets also include access to the Sustainable Seafood VIP Lounge with curated cocktails and specialty seafood dishes from FIG, Barbara Jean, and Omega Blue Seafood as well as free entrance to Santa Monica Pier Aquarium located under the Pier.
This event is planned to be fully free of single-use plastics, and a portion of proceeds will benefit Heal the Bay help preserve our local oceans, waves, and beaches for future generations.
