The Japanese Food Expo comes to Loews Hollywood Hotel on Saturday January 25, 1 – 9 pm for a day of authentic Japanese food, culture and fun. Over fifty exhibitors will showcase various foods, many currently available only in Japan.
Representatives from various prefectures including Aichi Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture, Kagoshima Prefecture, Miyagi Prefecture, Shizuoka prefectures will showcase Japan’s premium foods.
A Japanese style Matsuri festival will feature Japanese street-style foods like ramen, curry, sushi and more.
Other food offerings include onigiri rice balls, Japanese sweets, cotton candy (wataame), and matcha soft serve.
A tuna cutting performance with Japanese Bluefin tuna, with everyone get to taste the Tuna.
A live demo will show Suzumo sushi robots used by many local sushi shops to keep up with customer hunger.
Workshops will teach you to create Japanese food and snacks.
The fan favorite Sake & Beer Alley featuring over 20 premium sake brands will be open to those over 21.
You will be able to play Japanese carnival games like air rifle (shateki) and ring toss (wanage) to win Japanese snacks (dagashi).
Japan travel exhibits and cultural performances round out the day’s programming.
Tickets are all-inclusive for one of two time slots 1 – 4pm and 6 – 9pm with the exact same food, drinks, performances and cultural experiences; the 2 hour break between the two slots give vendors a break to replenish provisions.
