FOOD FARE

The highly anticipated annual culinary event PPLA Food Fare returned to Barker Hangar on Thursday, March 7 for its 40th anniversary.  Over 150 of Southern California’s best restaurants, caterers and libation purveyors will be represented at the event’s lunch and dinner sessions.

Beverage purveyors included Angel City Brewery, Ascension Cellars, Bai Brands, Beckman Vineyards, Califa Farms, Carolla Drinks, Cooper & Kings American Brand Company, Craftsman Brewing Company, Drago Cantina, Elixer Ginger, Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Golden Road Brewing, Infuse Vodka and Spirits, Jardesca, Joya Import Export, Kikori Whiskey, MacLeod Ale Brewing Co., Marquis, Martian Ranch & Vineyard, Navarro Vineyards, Obvious Wines, Pasquini Coffee Co., PRP Wine International, Riviera Wine Group-Winecult, Scholb Premium Ales, Suja Juice, Toucan Wines, Ventura Spirits, and Vinemark Cellars.

Dozens of raffles and auctions included the popular silent wine and spirits auctions of collectable vintages, vertical collections and large format bottles. Other prizes include dream vacations and private dinner parties at top Los Angeles restaurants.

This year’s event honored Chef Helene An of House of An as Food Fare Chef of the Year for her contributions to PPLA’s mission. Her restaurants include  Crustacean Beverly Hills and Tiato Santa Monica.

This year’s event was attended by over 2,000 supporters who raised  $1.3 million in support of PPLA. Event proceeds will benefit PPLA’s health care and education programs. Yearly, its nineteen centers in Los Angeles County serve over 237,000 patient visits, and its education and community outreach programs reach almost 50,000 adults and young people.
